A Senior Partner with Curits Dawe, Aubrey's primary focus is in the area of corporate and commercial law. His practice includes issues related to securities matters, public and private financing, corporate finance, financial restructuring, mergers and acquisitions, insolvency and bankruptcy, general business law and commercial real estate acquisitions, divestitures and financing.
Aubrey joined the firm in 1970 and received a B.A. from Memorial University and a LL.B. from Dalhousie. He was called to the Bar in 1970 and was appointed Queen's Counsel in 1992.
His legal activities go beyond those of the firm. Aubrey is an active member of the Law Society of Newfoundland and Labrador and the Canadian Bar Association. He has authored and presented course materials used in the Corporate Matters and Commercial Financing section of the Newfoundland and Labrador Law Society's Bar Admission Course. Furthermore his expertise has led him to present for several Continuing Legal Continuing Legal Education Seminars of the Law Society of Newfoundland and Labrador on the Corporations Act, the Goods and Service Tax and Law Office Management.
