Mr. Bonnell joined Curtis Dawe in 1970 and is a Senior Partner.
He practices primarily corporate/commercial law including: securities matters, public and private financing, corporate finance, financial restructuring, mergers and acquisitions, insolvency and bankruptcy, general business law matters and commercial real estate acquisitions, divestitures and financing.
He received a B.A. from Memorial University of Newfoundland and his LL.B. from Dalhousie Law School. In December, 1970, he was called to the Bar and was appointed Queen's Counsel in January, 1992.
Mr. Bonnell is a member of the Law Society of Newfoundland and Labrador and the Canadian Bar Association. He has been a presenter in the Corporate Matters and Commercial Financing section of the Newfoundland and Labrador Law Society's Bar Admission Course, and is the author of a portion of the course materials. He is also a presenter at several Continuing Legal Education Seminars of the Law Society of Newfoundland and Labrador on the Corporations Act, the Goods and Service Tax and Law Office Management.
